CC Coach Gary Westlund's PledgePage

CC Mission: To improve health and fitness, reduce health risks, and enhance disease management through goal-oriented training programs.

Pictured above, CC Coaches Gary Westlund and Jeanne DeMartino, along with CC Member Terry Moore, are "Challenged Honored Athletes" demonstrating the healthful, even healing, benefits of appropriate exercise and training programs.

This photo was taken October 18, 2003, after we ran the Run for the Apples 5 Miler in MN.

We each run with a "Challenge".

I had Total Hip Replacement nine months earlier. My degenerative joint disease of my hip joints is due to congenital hip displasia and was inevitable. But, physical activity has been the key to my recovery of optimal health and enjoyment of life! I also bike and row.

Coach Jeanne was diagnosed with breast cancer nine months before this 5 miler. She has better handled the challenges of her cancer therapies (double mastectomy, chemo and radiation) because she continued prudent physical activity, principally walking, biking and rowing.

Terry Moore is age 65, a cancer survivor too, as well as amazing his doctors with his management of his challenging arthritis by staying physically active.

Terry runs, walks, bikes and hikes.

Terry helped lead me, the CC Coach, to my own CC "Comeback, Kid" event the month before this 5 Miler pictured above, when we biked the Tour de Tahoe
72 miler around Lake Tahoe, a CC Destination Team Event.

Check out all our CC Destination Events at our CC website. And, also check out our continually growing list of other inspiring CC "Comeback" stories and photos.

Help me, Coach Jeanne, Terry Moore, yourself, and many others by joining CC yourself and/or contributing to my personal fundraising, or the fundraising of any/all of our CC Ambassadors who'll be adding their own PledgePages.

Your contributions to Charities Challenge, Inc, a MN registered non-profit with CC Members, Charity Partners, Programs, and Coaches/Coordinators nationwide, will be used to further the mission and reach of CC. My personal fundraising will be used to further the mission of Charities Challenge.

Stay personally motivated to healthful and therapeutic exercise by coming back to our pages to learn the latest in our ongoing "Comebacks" from health challenges.

We hope and expect that by telling our own "Comeback" stories others will be inspired to fill their own daily exercise prescription, and thereby reduce their health risks and improve the quality of their own lives, especially if they too have a health challenge.

Be well, Be fit, and Be Better!
